Built on an ancient Gallo-Roman site in the 12th century by the d'Avully family, the château was fortified in the 14th century by order of the Count of Savoy.
At the end of the 15th century, it was sold to the de Saint-Michel family of Geneva, who gave it its final appearance. Bought by the Saint François de Sales family in the 18th century, it then suffered the ravages of the French Revolution, before falling into ruin and oblivion for almost two centuries...
Today, the building is proud of its appearance, and invites you to discover its gardens, its farmyard, its moat, and its magnificent rooms decorated with murals that tell the story of life in the Middle Ages and the history of the States of Savoy (museum).
Privately owned and classified as a Historic Monument, this 14-hectare park is home to a magnificently restored château that has regained its medieval character (moat, drawbridge, keep, murals).
The château can be visited all year round, either on your own or on a guided tour, and is also available for private events (weddings, receptions, etc.).
